Hows it going? Just thought I’d write up a simple little ipod nano 6th generation review since they seem to be all the rage these days. I’m sure you’ve no doubt heard about an ipod before and have probably seen the newest ones (known as the 6th generation nanos) advertised on tv. They are an excellent device for carrying vast quantities of music with you and most people feel like they can’t live without their ipod.

Do you remember back in the day when the ipod changed the way we’ll look at digital music forever? Along with the rise of the ipod came the rise of napster and the digital music revolution was born. Suddenly it was posisble to carry around not just an album, or two albums but entire discographies in your pocket and listen to them at your leisure. The size was a bit of a problem at first and they weren’t the greatest for working out with but they still quickly became one of the best and most popular digital music players around.

Like I mentioned in the previous paragraph, the overall size of the unit was a little too big to make excersizing or anything with a lot of movement possible with the first ipods. But really it was only a question of when not if the ipod would end up as a smaller device

The first move Apple made to size down the iPod was with the ipod mini. This was truly a great advancement in that it greatly reduced the size and made wearing the ipod on your belt or in your pocket much less obtrusive. Personally, I used and still use my ipod mainly for exercise like jogging and weight lifting and the mini made this a lot more enjoyable but the best was yet to come. Apple was gearing up to produce an entire new line of small digital mp3 players that totally turned the mp3 world on it’s head.

While there was the ipod mini, the first true, fully functional, small ipod was the Nano. A drastic size reduction from the mini it was so light you couldn’t feel it in a coat pocket and wasn’t obtrusive to carry in your hand while jogging or walking in workout clothes (most workout clothes don’t have pockets!). This was great and I definitely bought one however I found that I did not like having the ipot strapped to my arm while jogging (uncomfortable) and carrying it in my hand meant that it was covered in sweat at the end of the work out.

So it’s now the present day and where is the ipod nano? Quite simple really, they’ve just released the 6th generation and I’m quite sure that it is the best and most user friendly iPod nano yet! While the touch screen provides super easy navigation it also means that Apple were able to eliminate the controls that made the other nanos much bigger. They have also included a built in clip so that you don’t have to worry about where you’re going to put the nano while you’re listening to music! Plus the weight of the unit is so low that you’ll literally forget it’s attached to your clothes!

Apple definitely hit the nail on the head with the iPod Nano 6th gen. As usual they have not only raised the bar but kicked it out of the park. I hope you enjoyed this article on the ipod nano 6th generation!
