Outside TVs or better known as outside television systems (OTSs) are quite popular these days as they serve multiple purposes. Everybody likes to spend time out of the home at the garden or in the pool during a hot summer day. However, nobody likes to miss a basketball or football game especially when their favorite team is playing. Particularly during major sporting events, such systems are useful in attracting people to shopping malls and business places.

Now, one may argue that placing a normal television outside is going to solve the problem. However, this is neither very sensible nor practical for that matter. Firstly, it is a burden to carry all the hardware outside and back inside after a match. Over that, normal indoor TVs are not suited to perform under abundant natural ambiance such as in the open. On the other hand, OTSs are specially designed for outdoor viewing.

For one, OTSs have anti glare screens unlike conventional TVs, meaning you can enjoy your live telecast under the sun. These TVs also sport scratch resistant screens. This feature is essential to protect against winds carrying dirt particles that can otherwise scratch the TV surface. Stainless steel or aluminum provides an OTS with physical strength, which is needed for anything that is meant to remain outdoors. Moreover, you do not need long cables for speakers. Purchase a pair of wireless outdoor speakers specially designed for OTSs and you are set.

All these extra properties are bound to make OTSs an expensive acquisition. Some can cost as low as 1500$ but others can be as high as $7000. The screen size determines the price. The good news however, is that with such rising demand for these unique TVs, the prices are sure to fall in the coming years.

The biggest concern with an expensive OTS is that it will be an easy target for thieves. So, how can you keep it safe overnight in the outside environment? The OTSs survive almost any threat created by the nature, but like every other appliance, they are susceptible to robbery.

The best solution is employing protective cabinets called outside television enclosures. You can look for an LCD enclosure that suits both LCD and plasma TVs. An LCD enclosure has an air filter for filtering dust and an airflow system to prevent your OTS from getting over heated. It gives extra physical strength and resistance from water, snow and dust. But, most importantly the bolt system in the enclosures provides maximum security for the appliance inside it. It is of course a huge relief and it ensures that you never have to stay far from live action.
