postheadericon Digital Photography Reviews – An Examination of the Nikon Digital Camera – The D3100 DSLR

A few years back it was thought that an amateur photographer or someone who just takes pictures of family, friends and vacation spots had no use for a DSLR camera. Who needed to shell out the extra cash when you could get a decent, cheap camera that took high quality pictures? It all sounds great on paper but the limitations of these wallet friendly gadgets become crystal clear once you use them. You might luck out with a decent model but more than likely you’ll be disappointed once you start taking pictures with the camera.

Nikon hopes to change the minds of people that obtain digital cameras with the new D3100. Basically, they’re betting and hoping people will pay a higher price for a camera that’s high quality and simple to use. They are relying heavily on the HD video choice to drive sales as well as the 14.2 megapixels. A camera can look great but that never matters. It’s how well it functions and what it does that mean anything in the long run. I’ve seen and used cameras that looked great but when it came to performing, they were terrible.

These days, as technology advances at what seems to be the speed of light, the modern gadget that you can purchase is something that’s so superior that every person needs to own it. The iPhone 4 is a great example of this. So many people went out and purchased it and got all the problems that came along with it. Were people pondering probable issues while using the device? Obviously they weren’t. It proves two things. People continue to be impulsive and folks still want the best.

I would say the D3100 is a great camera for those who would consider themselves an amateur photographer. I’m certainly not a professional photographer and I had no problems recording videos or taking pictures. Whether it’s a good camera for professional photographers isn’t something I personally can say. As an amateur photographer I am more than happy with the D3100.

The price tag might be a bit much for some people and is certainly the major limitation of the camera. If you’re not someone who is a stickler for the highest possible quality then this isn’t the camera for you. If you are the type who wants to take pictures in many different conditions and under many different circumstances then this may be a worthwhile investment for you.
