postheadericon Copying Childhood Movies From VHS To DVD

Everyone has their good old home movies of either their kids or themselves running around being 100% awesome. If you ever lost these you would be sick. They are priceless but the problem as technology has changed many of us don’t even have a VCR any more to watch these home videos. So what can you do.

Option #1 – Do Nothing – Yes, you could be lazy and do absolutely nothing and keep the old tapes tucked away in their boxes and not enjoy them. You could do that but that is a horrible idea and you should be ashamed of even thinking it. There is no way to replace the video of you pulling the park brake and running grandpas car into the lake.

Option #2 – Pay a Conversion Company: There are a bunch of companies that are willing to convert your old VHS Movies to DVD. So look in your local yellow pages first then if you can’t find anyone close look online. There are a bunch of companies online where you can mail your VHS tapes and they will convert them and mail back the DVD’s as well as the VHS tapes.

Option #3 – VHS to DVD Dubbing Deck: At up to $20 a tape it can get pretty expensive to convert the boxes and boxes of movies you have so it might be a smart idea to look at buying your own VHS to DVD dubbing deck. A VHS to DVD dubbing deck can run your anywhere from $150 to $300 which could be a good investment if you plan on doing a ton of different tapes.

It doesn’t really matter which option you choose as long as long as it is not option #1 because once you have the conversions done you can get down to the business of watching them again. So if you have been meaning to get around to converting your VHS tapes for a while now stop using excuses and get it done.
